Chess Commander is a next generation chess game for the PC. It has many features to make the classic game of chess even more enjoyable to play - including legal move display, realistic voices, orchestral soundtrack and board annotation. Chess Commander supports multiple computer opponents, free online chess and email chess - all from a single, graphically rich interface. You can also improve your game by studying 1000s of matches played by grandmasters, or create your own game databases for future reference. Version 1.20 adds access to the new online service "Chess Planet" - search for opponents by skill level and play them live online, with built in instant messaging.

Chess Commander 1.20 was released on Feb 1, 2003. The current version will run on Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, NT, XP.

Chess Commander is a shareware. You will be able to use the evaluation version available for download during a limited period, after what you will have to buy the full version to continue to use Chess Commander.

Size of Chess Commander 1.20 download is less than 5728 Kb. DSL users will only need 2 minutes to achieve the download, when 13 minutes may be required when using a 56k modem. (See below to download Chess Commander 1.20).
