DirectDVD is a full-featured digital DVD player and software decoder for Windows that brings powerful DVD movie capabilities to your PC. With DirectDVD's Software Decoder, you are able to watch all your favorite DVD movies on multiple CPUs, regions, graphic controllers, and DVD drives. DirectDVD includes advanced theater-quality audio such as TruSurround XT, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Headphones, and it offers Circle Surround II from SRS Labs. Features include DVD to MP3, proprietary deinterlacing algorithms for reduction of motion effect on VGA monitors, and CSS software support for playback of all your favorite movies or other encrypted content. Change the playback view of your DVD using letterbox, pan, and crop technology. The skins package allows the user to easily change DirectDVD's look and feel and easily take full control with amazing realistic overlays directly inside the interface. It now features SRS surround plug-ins and Web plug-ins for DVD. Version 5.0 adds ATI Remote capabilities, DMO/DSP plug-ins, UltraFunk, EQ-ENH Digital 10 band EQ, TruSurround Headphones, and other new DVD features.

DirectDVD 5.0 was released on May 1, 2003. The current version will run on Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, NT, XP. Additional system requirements for DirectDVD include DirectX 8.0, 300MHZ, 60MB Ram.

DirectDVD is a shareware. You will be able to use the evaluation version available for download during a limited period, after what you will have to buy the full version to continue to use DirectDVD.
